Reviews and Ratings
The hotel is situated right in the heart of town next to Fox Glacier Guides, offering convenience for glacier views and activities. While the rooms are clean and provide what's needed for a stopover, the lack of soundproofing can lead to potential sleep disturbances. The staff is welcoming, yet some noise disruptions, like early morning kitchen sounds, may affect rest. Overall, the location is fantastic for exploring, but noise concerns can impact the stay.
The hotel was situated in a separate building which felt more suited to a school group than a couples vacation, but the rooms were in nice enough condition. The manager went out of their way to help, and the service in all parts of the hotel was friendly. The location was fantastic next to Fox Glacier Guides and great for Fox Glacier and Matheson Lake, though it was sad to see building roofs instead of windows overlooking the nice scene. The dining experience was a little pricey and was located over the road. Overall, it was a mix of positives and negatives.
The hotel is conveniently located for exploring Fox Glacier and Matheson Lake, providing easy access to the glacier and Main Street. The rooms, though small, are comfortable and clean, but soundproofing could be improved. The service is generally helpful, but not as warm as expected. The dining experience offers a good buffet variety, and the facilities are satisfactory.
The hotel offers great views of the village and mountains from the rooms, but the twin beds were a bit inconvenient for my stay. It was noisy near a generator, yet the service was fantastic with very attentive staff. The location was perfect for accessing Fox Glacier and the main street in town, next to Fox Glacier Guides. The dining experience was good with an extensive buffet, but there was some noise in the morning. Overall, the facilities were adequate, providing a satisfactory stay at a reasonable price.
